TO)pot Festival: Walking-with Silences

23–27 September 2026

Cukrarna and public spaces

The sixth edition of the Festival of Radical Sound Walks brings together artists, theorists, and walkers in a shared act of listening to spaces and to the voices of others. The festival subtitle, Walking-with Silences, offers an insight into the potential of walking as a mode of listening — a practice that deepens our understanding of different registers of silence: the silence of a place, the silence of society, and the listening of art. This is a broad and layered field to which the festival turns its attention this year, without claiming to encompass it in its entirety.

In addition to selected sound walks and a sound exhibition, the festival programme includes two concert evenings and a series of lectures. These completed thematic strands expand the horizon for understanding the central theme and enable collective reflection on its contents from different perspectives. The TO)pot festival should be understood as a space of encounter, interweaving, and connection between diverse artistic practices, as well as social and scientific concerns.

The sound walks and exhibition are curated by Irena Pivka, the concerts by Brane Zorman, while the lecture series is convened by Maja Bjelica (ZRS Koper). The festival’s visual identity is designed by Matej Tomažin.

In addition to those mentioned above, the organisational and production team includes Alanka Trebušak, Allja Petric, Karmen Ponikvar, and the technical staff of Cukrarna and Cona. The festival is produced by Cona and co-produced by Cukrarna. Partners include ZRS Koper, AGRFT, MGML, Škuc, Forum of New Music, and others to be announced shortly.

Participating artists, theorists, and creators will be announced shortly.
