Footprints in a Desolate Landscape
The text was developed during the work on the exhibition Stekleno nebo and accompanies the multichannel sound installation by intermedia artist Marko Batista. The work continues an artistic inquiry into contemporary post-factual society and the relationships between society, nature, and technology within an eco-critical framework.
The exhibition establishes an apocalyptic sound-space landscape in which humans are absent yet unmistakably present through the consequences of their actions. The devastated terrain, marked by traces of surviving (post-)humanoids, functions as a site for reflection on technological progress, environmental politics, and current humanistic concepts.
