The Tree Spirits | Touch
The text was developed during the work on the project The Tree Spirits | Touch, which focuses on the sonic dimension of tree life and on relationships between individual parts of a plant, colonies of organisms, and the wider forest community. The sound recordings follow the life and seasonal cycle of a tree, revealing its sonic presence over time.
The work begins and ends with silence, with the silence preceding the spring flow of tree sap and the silence following destruction caused by climate change, drought, and fires. The text opens reflections on listening to trees, the fragility of ecosystems, and the consequences of human intervention in the environment.
