Earthling Gaia

Cultural education

The publication was created to accompany the walking sound performance Earthling Gaia and combines a complete transcript of the soundwalk with additional accompanying material. It is intended for in-depth reading, reconsideration, and recording impressions after the experiential walk through the forest and lake landscape of Lake Cerknica.

The text follows the dystopian narrative of Earthling Gaia, a girl as a metaphor for the planet’s future inhabitants, and opens questions about the relationship between humans, nature, and the technological overburdening of space. The publication sheds light on the artistic, ecological, and theoretical contexts of the performance, includes a route map and explanations of selected concepts, and encourages expanded listening, mindfulness, and sensitivity to the sonic environment.
