On Thursday, 1 October, we will conclude Festival TO)pot 2026 with the ceremonial handover of the festival relay baton to the City of Women Festival.

Following the soundwalk Echo of a Gunshot by Sava šumi [Urška Savič], we will walk together from Ambrož Park towards the Old Power Station – Elektro Ljubljana, where the final echoes of this year’s TO)pot will meet the beginning of the 32nd City of Women Festival. The handover of the relay baton is a symbolic gesture of mutual support and an attempt to forge closer connections between festivals that take place in the same city, space and time.

The route towards the handover will be traced by the soundwalk Sava šumi [Urška Savič]: Odjek strela. The walk is based on layers of sound materials – archival recordings, fragments of texts, field recordings and contemporary sound interventions – intertwined with direct listening to the surroundings. In this way, it creates a tension between the mediated and the immediate, between what is recorded and what remains elusive. Its central motif is the echo of a gunshot – a sound that returns, recedes and approaches, acting both as orientation and disruption. It refers to the former symbol of the pink gun on the façade of Rog and opens up questions about the histories of the site: from industrial production to autonomous practices, erasure and transformation. What happens to a story when the gun is never fired?

After the soundwalk, we will continue together to the Old Power Station, where the ceremonial handover of the festival relay baton and the official opening of the City of Women Festival will take place at 8.30 pm. Following the opening addresses, the evening will continue with a concert by the Italian duo Wunder Tandem, combining accordion, a miniature drum kit, two voices and elements of street theatre, cabaret and musical performance. Admission to the opening event is free.
