Opening of the TO)pot 2026 Festival: Walking-With Silences
On Wednesday, 23 September, the sixth edition of the TO)pot festival of radical soundwalks: Walking-with Silences opens at Cukrarna. Five festival days will bring together walking, listening, sound art, concerts and discussions, exploring different manifestations of silence – from the silence of place and body to social silence and unheard voices.
The opening evening features three events:
19.00 | Boštjan Perovšek: Inaudible – Audible, Among Bats
A bioacoustic sound sculpture brings the ultrasonic voices of bats into the range of human hearing, shaping them into an immersive 360-degree spatial sound projection.
19.30 | Salomé Voegelin: no signal
A curatorial performance using sound, poetry and text scores explores “no signal” as a possibility for listening differently to silence and to silenced voices.
19.30 | Bojana Šaljić Podešva, Matjaž Porovne, Tilen Udovič, Alja Mandič Faganel: Blood Is Water (with Taste)
A composition for strings and multichannel recordings of water explores the space between tone and noise, as well as the intimate perception of aquatic soundscapes. The concert is produced in collaboration with the City of Women festival.
The TO)pot festival will take place from 23 to 27 September at Cukrarna and in public spaces across Ljubljana.
