RadioCona

Temporary radio station for contemporary art

radioCona is a platform that uses radio frequency space in an artistic context. FM frequencies are understood as a public space, which we explore through various perspectives and mediations—through artworks, publications, broadcasts, and exhibitions. radioCona is an intervention into public space.

radioCona was launched on January 1, 2008. Since then, it has produced a series of FM and online broadcasts, FM exhibitions, thematic discourses, lectures, and workshops. radioCona is unique in the Slovenian art scene and beyond, connecting local and international artists, curators, and institutions, while expanding and crossing the boundaries of musical, radio, performative-experiential, and intermedia arts.

radioCona broadcasts are made possible by the competent national agency for frequency space regulation, with the aim of thematizing the use of public space as a public good within the framework of existing legislation, and rethinking non-media uses of radio frequency space.
