Open Call for New Sound and Audio Walks

Support for the production of a new work in the field of sound walks by Slovenian artists and artists living in Slovenia. The application deadline is 5 October 2023.

Cona will provide the selected proposal with production funding, an artist fee, mentorship—or rather, an artistic conversation—as well as a location for presenting the work and promotion. We will select no more than two proposals, which will be presented to the public at the TO)pot festival in 2024. If you have any additional questions, please contact us at info@cona.si.

What is a sound walk?
A sound or audio walk encompasses a broad range of artistic practices that primarily sensitise us to places through listening and walking. The field includes different formats such as sound walks, audio walks, in situ listening, performative walking and listening, and deep listening. This call addresses all these forms.
The work should culminate in a sound-based performative walk at a selected location, rather than only a score for walking. The artist should also be open to collaborating with the Cona team during the production phase.
