Open Call for the Production of New Sound Walks

News

Support for the production of a new work in the field of sound walks by Slovenian artists and artists living in Slovenia. The application deadline is Sunday, 19 October 2025.

The call aims to support the production of new works in the field of sound walks by Slovenian artists and artists living in Slovenia.
Cona will provide the selected proposal with production funding, an artist fee, artistic mentorship or a professional consultation, a location for presenting the work, and promotion. One or no more than two proposals will be selected and presented to the public at the TO)pot festival in 2026. If you have any additional questions, please contact us at info@cona.si.

What is a sound walk?
A sound or audio walk encompasses a broad range of artistic practices that primarily sensitise us to a place through listening and walking.
These practices take many forms: sound and audio walks, in situ listening, walking and listening performances, and deep listening. This call addresses all these formats.
The work must culminate in a sound-based performative walk at a selected location, rather than only a score for walking. The artist should also wish to collaborate actively with the Cona team during the production phase.

TO)pot Festival
TO)pot, a festival of sound walks, concerts and reflections, brings together artists, theorists and curious walkers with places and more-than-human entities, inviting them to experience walking and listening as a spatial enactment of place.
Walking as a practice of grounding and attuning to space and the environment becomes a radical attempt to slow the pace of everyday social life.
