I Walked for Too Long and I Became a Landscape

Soundwalk

Have you ever been to the woods? I imagine you smiling slightly now, with a hint of sarcasm. “Of course,” you tell yourself. “What kind of question is that?!” But have you really? Have you been to a real forest? The kind you pay to enter?

Walking is never innocent. Walking shapes the landscape. It indulges the gaze. Walking is political. It creates realities depending on where we go, with whom, when, the weather, clothing, thoughts, feelings, health conditions, terrains, forms, plants, types of soil, moisture, and every other element you can think of.

I lost myself in the woods. Come walk through me!
