The Festival of radical soundwalks TO)pot, a festival of soundwalks, concerts and critical reflection, brings together artists, theorists and curious walkers in dialogue with spaces, their temporalities and more-than-human entities. The festival’s subtitle, Walking-with Changes, points to the potential of walking and listening as practices that foster a deeper understanding of place and its shifting constant.
Through attentive listening, walkers are invited to adopt a critical approach to the environments they inhabit – or, in the context of migration, are still learning to inhabit – and to attune themselves to both local and global landscapes.
Beyond Listening 2025 CENSE Symposium is embedded within the broader framework of the TO)pot festival. The CENSE Symposium is produced by Cona Institute, co-organised by the Science and Research Centre Koper, Institute for Philosophical and Religious Studies, and facilitated by the Central European Network for Sonic Ecologies.
The Central European Network for Sonic Ecologies (CENSE) is a network of diverse voices from the fields of arts, science, and activism. The network works towards an increased awareness of developments in the social and cultural spheres of Central Europe (and beyond) with a particular focus on environmental transformations and their wide-ranging effects.
More information about the artists and programme will be announced soon.
Sejalke_ Green Collaborations of the TO)pot festival
The Sejalke project is conceived as a strategic approach to raising ecological awareness among the stakeholders involved in the festival of radical sound walking, TO)pot. The aim of the project is to explore how festivals like TO)pot can serve as models of sustainable organization, where art functions as a means of understanding environmental challenges and promoting sustainable practices.
On the project website, we have published the first carbon footprint measurements of the TO)pot festival in 2024, along with the Analysis of Existing Policies for the Reduction of Noise Pollution, conducted earlier this year (in Slovene).
