Surrounded by Sound (Roundtable) – A discussion with artists and researchers
CONA and Kino Šiška invite you to the two-day event ZVO.ČI.TI Acousmonium Octa-Fusion, offering a unique sonic experience in an octaphonic environment. Curators Brane Zorman and Patrick K.-H., together with invited sound artists, will present electroacoustic compositions in an acousmatic performance.
The event will feature premieres of new and archival works by Boštjan Perovšek, Patrick K.-H., Enrique Mejia Mendoza, Tetiana Khoroshun, Karmen Ponikvar, Brane Zorman, Mauricio Valdés San Emeterio. With special guests Volkmar Klien (Austria), presenting SADISS, an experimental sound system where mobile phones become part of the acoustic projection, and Alla Zagaikevych (Ukraine), a renowned composer and ethnomusicologist, presenting Song of Odysseus and MISTO.
A highlight of the event is the roundtable discussion Surrounded by Sound, where participating artists will share their visions, thoughts, and perspectives on contemporary electroacoustic music, with a special focus on spatial sound.
Each evening from 18:00 to 19:30, the Acousmonium Listening Session will feature a curated selection of key works from the history of spatial sound composition from the authors Kristina Warren, Ida Hiršenfelder, Martyna Kosecka, Jaime Reis, Bojana Šaljić Podešva, Cristóvão Almeida, Mariana Vieira, and Marta Domingues.
For years, the SO.UND.ING Acousmonium project has been commissioning and inviting artists—especially in our musical landscape—to create new spatial sound compositions. Through ongoing activities, we reinforce the significance of spatial sound music production, positioning Slovenia within the global acousmatic music scene.
