sound-poetic workshop
introductory meeting, Friday, 20 Sep, 10:00
workshop execution, 25–29 Sep
Cukrarna, classroom and surroundings
The education programme unfolds alongside the To)pot festival of radical soundwalks, offering a dedicated strand aimed at educating young people in auditory sensitisation and critical-poetic reflection.
How do we tune into the city? How do we recognise that the everyday soundscape of the city, enveloping us as we open the window or step onto the street, is, in essence, the longest and most enduring musical composition? How do we grasp the artistic endeavour of crafting an acoustic ecology and psychogeography that requires an active awareness of our auditory surroundings while immersed in urban life? How do we interpret and engage with such artworks, intervening in them in a meaningful way?
The education programme unfolds alongside the To)pot festival of radical soundwalks, offering a dedicated strand aimed at educating young people in auditory sensitisation and critical-poetic reflection. Participants throughout the festival will echo its events by listening and documenting their experiences. Festival diary aims to cultivate the ability to reflect upon and be attuned to what is happening around us, nurturing an active mindset amidst diverse artistic expressions. The collective sound work of workshop participants will be broadcast on the airwaves of Radio Študent. Irena Pivka, Saška Rakef and Marta Medvešek will hold lectures as part of the workshop.
