ZVO.ČI.TI so.und.ing DUO is a series of electroacoustic performative sound events premiering works created in collaboration between a Slovenian and an international artist. Curated by: Brane Zorman
Boštjan Perovšek and Pablo Sanz: Out Of Earshot
The outcome of the residency of Bostjan Perovsek and Pablo Sanz will be a collaborative live performance based on the use of a variety of bioacoustic signals as raw material. Focusing on acoustic phenomena in the periphery of human perception, the exploration of textural patterns and sonic transfiguration processes, the artists will create a dynamic dialogue between their original sound sources. The work will be composed and performed using a quadraphonic multichannel setup in order to create an immersive sonic-spatial experience for the audience.
Boštjan Perovšek: An Eye That Hears – 16
Our environment is a sound garden which has the place in our recording machines. Sound is around us from all directions; up and down, left and right,….. it is like a puppy who never leave us alone. A sound experience is accompanied by visual fragments from almost hidden places b/c we don’t care about them enough. A composition is realized with 16 sound nests of soundscapes modulated live combined with electronic instruments.
Pablo Sanz: [in]audible
[in]audible is a work based on the exploration of hidden acoustic spaces and non-human listening modes. Extended recording strategies have been used to listen to a variety of acoustic phenomena in the thresholds of human perception.
Boštjan Perovšek, musician, composer and soundscape artist, composes experimental, electro acoustic music. He specialises in creating bio-acoustic music based on the sounds of animals, especially insects. He plays on his own or with the band SAETA, which performs experimental music. He also creates music for film, theatre, performances and multimedia installations, as well as soundscapes for museums and galleries. He has published a number of CD’s, some as a solo artist, some with the band SAETA. His first vinyl LP entitled „Bio, Industrial Acoustica (green)“ reveals compositions from his bio-acoustics and urban noise opus.

Pablo Sanz makes site-specific projects, multichannel installations, immersive live performances, headphone pieces and publications. His activities are engaged with the exploration of aesthetic and spatial aspects of sonic perception, working primarily with environmental sound as raw material, extended listening technologies, architectural physical space and spatial audio strategies.
